Renato Bertelli nasce a S. Lucia di Lastra a Signa nel 1900 e muore nel 1974.
Nel 1931 realizza la “Madonna del buon viaggio”, brevettandone l’immagine , così come avverrà per “Profilo continuo” nel 1933, sorta di anticipazione di quel “consumismo iconografico ” (1) , che si affermerà pochi decenni più tardi.
