I have a postcard from the Philadelphia Sesquicentennial in 1926. The postcard features the liberty bell on the front with blimps and airplanes, etc. The stamp on the back features the same graphic. Also, the postcard was postmarked from the fair itself. I have hesitated putting the card up for sale because I'm not sure how I should sell it or price it. Can I list it both as a postcard and a stamp sale? I know something about postcards but very little about stamps. Any suggestions? I'm grateful for any help.

Generally exposition/exhibition postcards for the 1920's onwards sell for between £1 and £2 (USD 1.50 - 3.50 roughly?).
I doubt the stamp/postmark are any more valuable, as they tend to be quite common, but let's see if you get some other comments from other postcard sellers (specially the US sellers)

Thanks for all of the help. I think I get it. Postcard - $3. Stamp - $1. Combination - $5. The fact that it was sent to my grandmother - Priceless. It goes into my "do not sell" pile.

considering that your pc is shown in my link and the fact it was sent to your grandmother, you should frame exhibit this one in a nice matted frame to be hung on your wall. i have done this with special items of interest in my stamp room.

The French seem quite keen on these, sometimes making up the connection between stamp and postcard themselves. But several countries have produced postcard versions of their stamps deliberately. Royal Mail did it systematically in the 1990s,but I don't know if they still do.

I forget the special name the French use, but in English the term "Maximum postcard" sometimes occurs.

You can even get a postcard on a stamp on a postcard.

Sorry to come in to this conversation late, but as some of you know I've been on holiday for a couple of weeks

Anyway, I was going to say that strictly speaking a 'Maxicard' must have the stamp on the picture side of the postcard, and the picture on one should be relevant to the picture on the other. Incidentally, by this definition British PHQ cards cannot qualify as Maxicards as they are just pictures of the actual stamp issues - a fine distinction but an important one nontheless

However, since you have wisely decided to keep the card in view of the family connection all the above becomes little more than academic showing-off...

yes, in order to have been a true maxicard in this day and age, the stamp and card must have a first day cancel. the day of issue for this stamp was may 10, 1926. the fair opened some time later; not good timing by the post office. a footnote in the scott catalog says the ' 150th anniv. of the declaration of independence, philadelphia. june 1- dec 1.' a very long celebration as heralded by the fair.
