Could we have the facility to sort closed items by unpaid/paid items?

I have pages & pages of closed items - some paid some not. I would like to be able to sort these to find those items that have not been paid in order to send a reminder, if necessary.

Rather than trawling through the sold items to find any that are unpaid, a quick sort would be ideal.

I know, from other Forum posts, that some other sellers move sold items straight into archive after giving feedback. However, I prefer to not archive sold items until feedback has been received just in case the member has not received the item(s).

Some buyers just don't bother to leave feedback nor bother to mark the item as received and it always leaves me wondering..............

Does anyone else agree?

Mike

Hi Mike,

As far as sorting items is concerned. If you sort them by "buyer", it makes it a bit easier to see what the status is, as it shows you at the right hand side (payment requested; payment received; item sent) in bold red.

Personally I archive everything as soon as I've left feedback to keep my list of closed (pending completion) items as lean as possible. If a problem with a transaction should arise, you can search your archive by "buyer", which should allow you to bring up the "troublesome" items.

If you have a look at my feedback received and feedback given, you'll see that there is a very substantial difference and as you say some buyers just don't bother to leave fb or acknowledge receipt. When I first started selling online I used to get really worried about it, but I don't even think about it anymore nowadays. If there is a problem, the buyer will get in touch sooner or later and I'll deal with it if that happens. If I don't hear anything I just assume that everything is ok.

I think you're making a rod for your own back there, instead of using the existing system more efficiently

When I receive payment I give feedback straight away so the Sold Items show if payment has been received or not; I don't transfer items into the Archive until after I have visited the Post Office and actually despatched the items. This way the Sold Items file is kept relatively small and easy to manage

Delcampe say that items are deleted from the archive after three months - yeah, right! I've had things lurking there four, five or even six months after shipping; I manually delete items as soon as I receive feedback from the buyer

Being brutal, if buyers can't be bothered to acknowledge receipt or give feedback then after three months there's not a lot I can do about it - the only exception being surface mail deliveries to far-flung places where they might be waiting for a passing ship for a long, long time

Yes - shifting closed items to archive as soon as items have been dispatched does reduce the number of pages to a certain extent.

However, I also have the problem where I may have multiple pages of sold items where they have not been paid for as the member may be bidding on further items that close a week later and are waiting for those to close to save on postage.

If a member pays for an item and for whatever reason the notification e-mail is missed or goes into the spam folder, I still have to trawl though pages of ended items to notice it.

A simple sort - or possibly the facility of grouping all items won by an individual buyer and a simple summary of the totals - would reduce the number of pages.

I'd like to see the facility for adding a note against some of the sold items, which would remind me that they may be unpaid because the buyer was awaiting the outcome of an auction or something... at the moment I have to make a separate note somewhere so I don't forget and send reminders.

Good news though - I now see it is possible to mark all items sent or all items payment requested! I've been asking for that facility for ages... as have others.

That will make it a lot less time consuming when you have multiple items to deal with.

That facility has been available for ages, but only if you sort by buyer - it doesn't show if sorted by title or ending date, which once caused me no end of confusion and consternation when I went to check off a load of despatches!
