Hi. Can anyone ID this location please? It was in an ablum of postcards from Pas de Calais and other areas of northern France.

A quick search on the date places it somewhere in the Loos-Artois area, probably the town of Loos itself which was captured on 25th September of that year

Card is shown on website of Commune de Rivière, Pas de Calais, bottom of page...

Thank you both very much! This is where Google maps are both amazing and frustrating! I have 'walked' down the lanes of Riviere and can glimpse the tantilising roof of a hexagonal tower over a wall, but I can't get over that wall! Anyway, I'm fairly sure that is the tower in the picture.

I put the date into Google and followed the Wikipedia links

I don't know how my last post appeared twice! Sorry!

Anyway, you certainly got the place right - Riviere - because I have another previously unidentified card from the same collection which I can now confirm is also in Riviere. Google maps allowed me to take a little stroll through the village and - wow - I came to the exact view of the church in my old postcard!
Amazing.
