Thank you both very much! This is where Google maps are both amazing and frustrating! I have 'walked' down the lanes of Riviere and can glimpse the tantilising roof of a hexagonal tower over a wall, but I can't get over that wall! Anyway, I'm fairly sure that is the tower in the picture.

Your help is very much appreciated!

I don't know how my last post appeared twice! Sorry!

Anyway, you certainly got the place right - Riviere - because I have another previously unidentified card from the same collection which I can now confirm is also in Riviere. Google maps allowed me to take a little stroll through the village and - wow - I came to the exact view of the church in my old postcard!
Amazing.
