bonjour robby,
long time no see on the forum. ah, a new 'counterfeit' from the far east. well, not exactly, it is a bimetal coin from thailand (10 baht). some clever person has used it as a 'euro' coin. this happens in america with coins that are similar to our pennies and quarters, esp. if the clerks are not paying attention when receiving them. keep it as a souvenir.
un bonne semaine a vous.
amities,
cajunsr.

p.s. - according to my world coin catalog there are 2 rareties for this coin issue, but you would have to be the expert to know which ones as the information given is very limited. the coins were minted between 1988/1996 with an average uncirculated price of 2006 catalog $2.50 to $3.00 u.s. dollars. the 1988 coin was never released and is very rare, and not priced. the 1990 coin has only a circulation of 100 and priced at $2500. unfortunately, the dates are in the thai language. desole.

Thanks Cajun!
I knew there had to be someone out there who knew where the coin came from!
So we'll just pretend it's a Thai Euro. (or a Thai 2 Euro).(They are roughly worth the same and they look alike!).
Or I'll go to Thailand for a holiday.
I'll think about it!

bonsoir robby,
you will be cheated. here is the exchange rate for the coin. the values i gave were for uncirculated, pristine coins for collectors.
10.00 THAI BHAT = 0.207853 EUR

Thanks for the information Cajun,
I think I'll go to Thailand on holiday then and take a bag full of Bhats back with me to Holland.
You can spend them here without any problems.
Cheers!
