It's been taking up to 5 to 6 weeks for some of my postcards to reach Europe. Just wondering if any other US sellers are having the same problem..

I'm not from the US but are you certain they are going via Airmail and not surface?
I once sent a picture to the US from the UK and, although I'd paid for Airmail, the sticker had come off the package. It took 6 weeks to get there.
I always write it on now as well as putting the official sticker on.

I'm not from the US but are you certain they are going via Airmail and not surface?
I once sent a picture to the US from the UK and, although I'd paid for Airmail, the sticker had come off the package. It took 6 weeks to get there.
I always write it on now as well as putting the official sticker on.
I am paying for 1st. Class International Airmail.. I used to put Airmail Stickers on the envelopes but the post office told me I don't have to do that.. They can tell by the amount of postage I put on the envelope.. I put all stamps on my envelopes because I know that a lot of buyers like collecting the different stamps I use.. Perhaps some of the PO employees cannot add that high..

I have the same problem..... but in reverse.... it's taking some of my post from the U.K. 4 to 6 weeks to reach the USA
From this side of the pond we were told it was due to your customs checking EVERY item of post going into the USA.... It might be that your customs are checking the post going out of the U.S.A.

I'd start putting the air mail stickers back on and see what happens.
I'd do as Mainly says and put the stickers on (I'd write it as well!)
They don't check the costings, they just ship them according to the labels.
The picture that I sent was quite large and the difference between the surface and Airmail prices were significant, but nobody checked it.
It could be that customs are checking them going out, but I can't really see that they do that...but maybe they are...
Go with the stickers and see what happens.

Registered/Insured mail from California has been taking up to 8 weeks to arrive here. The tracking systems all indicate the delays are here in the UK (probably Mount Pleasant) hence my complaints. As usual with Royal Mail you either hear nothing or get some standardised reply from a different mail center each time. I think I may build up a collection of these replies - may look interesting on Watchdog or similar - so far Belfast, London, Newcastle, Derby, Hemel Hempstead and Portsmouth.
On a different tack I was in Ghana at the beginning of March for a couple of weeks and I mailed a quantity of mail to myself - so far nothing has arrived from there so the problem is not confined to mail from the USA.
I also find nearly all my Recorded and overseas Registered and Insured mail is either dumped through my letter box with the ordinary mail or left on the door step unsigned for.

It does seem quite strange that you are having so many delays - makes you wonder if something is going on.
I'm shipping from France at the moment and stuff is going all over the world. Apart from one, possibly, being late to China, I haven't had anyone report any problems.
You would think that if they are checking mail going out of the UK then they would certainly be checking what is coming in?

According to the Royal Mail, there are no reported problems at the moment with mail going to/from the US.

Looking at the bottom of that page, there are quite a few public holidays this month, especially in Europe so even more delays may be expected!

Yes mail is much slower now than previous years. Especially seeing slowness going to Italy & Balken states.
