About 2months ago,I sent an insured letter to a buyer...with value inside. He claims it has not arrived yet.I went to the post office as well as checking on internet. The internet said it was sent and also gave dates when it arrived in the country BUT not whether he has received it.I also filled out forms and my post office sent them.It is my understanding,if I pay him before they investigate,it can be at my own risk.i.e.If they find he has received the envelope, the P.O.will not pay. However,he writes regularly complaints...although I even felt sorry for his waiting and paid about 35%from my pocket ...at my risk.
Does anyone know the correct procedure for follow-ups on this?Or is there an alternative? This has been the procedure in 3countries I know of but am interested if that is the same everywhere.Thank you.

hola barrosam,
as a usps retiree, all i can say is you have done what you are supposed to do with your postal service, followed their instructions. there is nothing else i can tell you to do as each postal service in a different country has their own rules. although they may be similar, they are not exactly the same. if you have paid this customer, then i hope you can reclaim your money. just make sure all the procedures were completed by you so you can get your claim processed by your postal service. if they deny it, you can always contest it, and most likely win. :cool2:

amities,
cajunsr.
:D
