@christine

Who has some time and can help with translations. I need the following text:

"Le titre doit être clair, concis et non tapageur. En quelques mots il doit refléter la réalité de l’objet et être rédigé afin de permettre l’utilisation correcte du moteur de recherche.

Les locutions génériques non descriptives utilisées seules comme titre ne sont pas admises.
(exemple «timbre-poste», «carte postale», «affiche», «lieu», «sujet», «voir scan» ... ). Lorsqu’elles sont utilisées, ces locutions doivent impérativement être suivies d’indications descriptives.

La rédaction et la composition des titres doit rester sobre. Les expressions emphatiques injustifiées et suggestives sont proscrites («Unique», «Rare», …). Les signes de ponctuation, tirets etc répétés pour attirer l’attention ne sont pas autorisés.

Aucune indication personnelle relative à la gestion du vendeur ne sera insérée dans les titres. "

Thank you,

Christine

bonjour christine,
while i do not understand why a delcampe staffer is in need of a 'french' translation to english when the staff has competent interpreters, here is one from my translator:

"The title must be clear, concise and not showy. In some words it must reflect the reality of the object and to be composed in order to allow the correct usage of the search engine.

Generic not descriptive only used phrases as title are not admitted. (Example "stamps posts", "postal card", "posts", "place", "subject", "to see scan"...). When they are used, these phrases imperatively must be followed by descriptive indications.

The compilation and the title composition must remain temperate. The unjustified pompous expressions and suggestive are prohibited ("Unique", "Rare", …). The punctuation signs, dashes etc repeated to attract the attention are not authorized.

No personal indication relating to the management of the salesman will be inserted in the titles. "

this translation is from www.freetranslation.comLink (http), not the fish. i often find the fish translations to be somewhat garbled. you do in your description fail to indicate not to use 'punctuation' marks when entering phrases into the search engine. what has happened to evelyne and luke?

amities,

Thanks Cajunsr for laying some good ground work in the translation.

It still shows a few signs of being translated by a non-native speaker (or computer program!) and I'd like to offer this as a more 'natural' use of the language while still giving all of the pertinent information.

I'm actually still unsure of how to use an English word or phrase for "affiche" so left "posts" in, but maybe someone else can help here.

"The title must be clear, concise and not showy. In a few words it should give an accurate description of the actual object in order to allow easy use of the search engine.

Generic, non-descriptive phrases on their own in the title are not permitted. (Example: “postage stamp”, “post card”, “posts”, “place”, “subject”, “see scan”, etc.) When these words are used, they must be followed by actual descriptive indications of the object for sale.

The tone and composition of the title should be professional. Emphatic and unjustified words or expressions (“unique”, “rare” etc.) are prohibited.

Do not mention any sale policies or parameters in the title."
