Hello everyone !

I intend to put on DELCAMPE some QE II "definitives" from Commonwealth countries, all mint never hinged, always very fine. I already had a look at the S.G. on line, but how much can I ask on a general way as starting price : the half of the quoted prices ? less ? more ?

I would appreciate any comment hereabout.

Kind regards from this side of the Channel,

Jetphil

It is just not possoible to give a percentage of Catalog price that Stamps will make, so many factors are involved.
You may get some clue by checking out COMPLETED sales on E*** or other auction sites

Hello Coinandstampman,

Thank you very much for your meaning. Very kind from yours.
Yes , of course . . all depends of "supply and demand" and as much as possible I always try to have a look at some similar material on several sites.
But maybe I haven't been very clear . .
. . truly no approximated "rule" for classical sets (e.g. "definitives" of KG V, VI or QE II, MNH, perfect perforated), just to start ?
In which case I 'll do further like until now : mostly starting at 25-37 % (according to my own day idea ) and if not sold gradually lowering the price. A consequence is a longer delay . .

Kind regards,

Jetphil

Hi Jetphil
It depends on why you are selling, this is my philosophy - I collect mainly by buying on line and have duplicates, stamps from letters, items from sets that are incomplete, years ago these would have been swapped at school or at a club, none of these swap places are available, so i sell on delcampe to buy on delcampe.
In order to get some return i sell at 15% - 20% of SG who are a highly priced cataloguer, compare them with Michel for Germany for example.
If you are looking to pay the bills by selling stamps it will be totally different and you will have to compete on the marketplace.
Hope this helps.

Hi Scirocco_dave,

. . fully agree with the two philosophies.

I personally stay in the 2nd case (trying to get money from to attention of my own family), was delighted to get confirmation S.G. is higher priced than MICHEL (it seems Y&T would be yet higher priced . .)

Thank you for your reaction.
